The bolster on the button side of the knife pivots to release the lock so you can fold the blade closed.  You're not the only one with this question so don't feel bad!!  Hope this helps.

Care and Cleaning of Your New Knife

Sometimes when a knife is new, they're a little stiff and need to be worked a bit.  Don't automatically assume they're is something wrong with it or that it is defective.  Most knives are stored with fairly heavy oil to protect them during storage.   We suggest taking some WD-40 and spraying it well or if the handle material is such that it will withstand it use the following proceedure which works great!  Shake it lightly in a plastic jar (such as a cleaned out mayonaise or instant coffee jar) filled partially with mineral spirits making sure the mineral spirits sloshes well into the mechanisms of the knife.  Remove the knife and tap it well against your hand to clean out any access oil and cleaner and allow it to dry very well.  Make sure it's cleaned out extremely well.  You may have to repeat the cleaning two or three times.  Some knives, especially older (and very good quality, highly collectible) knives have not been used since they were made as all the knives we carry are brand new in the original condition they were purchased as.  This is a desirable quality.  They may just need to be loosened up a bit.  Then lube the knife mechanisms lightly (we suggest a silicone base rather than an oil base as it dries clean, where an oil base doesn't and can attract lint and dust in the field during use and slow down the opening of the knife).  We HIGHLY recommend Quick Release by Latama.  We've tried many and so far we've found it to be the best!  Although there are many other brands out there that work well and can be found at most gun/knife dealers and most all sporting goods counters.  Work the knife open and closed several times and allow the silicone based lube to dry well.  This not only should speed up the opening of the knife but cause it to snap completely open and help it to realign itself.  This is very typical of a new knife and routine procedure with about any automatic.
