The S.O.G. SOG TAC is a winner start to finish. It comes with Satin Silver or Ti- nitride Black hollow ground modified persian style blade, has an aluminum frame that is very slim with finger waves for a good grip and G-10 inlays on both side in the center cut-out. Some of the cool features are the pocket clip that extends just past the rear of the knife so it rides nice and low in your pocket and is less likely to get nudged out. There is a slide safety on the back side with also locks the blade securely open. In the G-10 cut-out the letter "O" has a center dot crosshair reticle that is phosflorescent and glows in the dark.

Yes, yes, we know. Those of you who love to drool over Allen Elishewitz’s web site of exquisite custom knives have pointed out that our new production CRKT Pharaoh is very different from Allen’s custom Pharaoh. Sorry for any confusion, but this is a unique design that incorporates many of Allen’s themes, and we felt it was so special it deserved to be called “king.” You will look very hard to find a production knife in this price class that is anything like the Pharaoh, so it does stand a bit larger than life. First there is the unique blade grind, reminiscent of the traditional “long clip blade” of a century ago, with Allen’s own innovations. The tip is designed for penetraton, with a swedged top edge. But the center of the blade is recurved, with a high hollow grind, making it ideal for feeding material to the cutting edge— wood, cord, vegetation. The blade is AUS 8 premium stainless steel in a bead-blast finish. Both Razor-Sharp and Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edge grinds are available. The frame is about the strongest we can imagine, with dual stainless steel liners, brushed stainless steel bolsters, textured injection-molded Zytel® scales, and a solid Zytel back spacer at the spine. The Pharaoh is a button lock, featuring steel-on-steel lockup. In addition, we have added our patented* AutoLAWKS™ automatic safety, which engages when the blade is opened and locked. We believe this combination makes just about the strongest and most secure lockup possible in a folder. Dual checkered thumb studs allow fast either-hand-opening. To close the Pharaoh, you must pull back the AutoLAWKS lever with the finger while pressing the button lock. The chances that this folder can close accidentally are very minimal, if not absolutely zero. The Pharaoh uses Torx® fasteners throughout. A removable high-mounted custom stainless steel pocket/gear clip has a bead-blast finish.  Historically, the pharaohs were held in awe by all those around them. We think our Pharaoh is awesome, too.   These Jody Samson custom knives are pieces of fine art created by a very well known artisan of both custom blades as well as bronze. These Beauties are truly one of a kind custom art knives that were commissioned by the manager of the Grateful Dead.  Numbered 9 and 10  made by Jody Samson shortly after moving out of Nelson Cooper's shop and into his own.  These Grateful Dead knives were custom made for the manager of the Grateful Dead to his specifacations.  Jody Samson made the drawings and the price and style was agreed upon.  On 5/31/76 America's 200th year birthday was also in full swing.  During sometime between the agreement and completion of the knives, the Grateful Dead band members made the discovery that the manager was misappropriating funds.  Try and keep in mind this was still a time of sex, drugs and rock and roll in America, as well as too much money, and the bands staying high rather than looking out for their hard earned money.  So when Jody asked for payment, the manager refused as he was deep in his own problems. At this time, Jody figured he was cheated.  He called a friend (the current owner of the knives) and asked if he would be interested and he purchased the knives which he has had in his possession since June 1976.  Jody Samson's stamp is on each blade and each head.  The overall length is 16" and they weigh 2 lbs 3 oz each.  The blade length of each knife is 8 1/2 with a thickness of the blade being 5/16" Carbon Steel.  Each head is 3" high.  The head with horns is 1 3/4" wide while the skull is 1 3/8" wide.  Both are cast from naval bronze.  Two 8 mm natural Red Garnets, approx 1/10 carats each are set in each of the eyes of the heads tapering to guard at 2 5/8".  Handle material is Micarta.
